I am taking delivery of a Panasonic TH-42PZ81B tomorrow and setting it up with some Kef KHT 2005.3 speakers. I am undecided about the AV receiver to choose. I initially decided on the Onkyo SR606 until I read that there were issues when connecting it to a PS3 (which I will be using to watch blu-ray DVD's) regarding a 'hum'!

I have since looked at over my initial budget (much to my wife's dismay!) at possibilities regarding a Pioneer VSX LX60, Pioneer VSX1018 and a Yamaha DSP AX763.

I have a PS3 to connect, Virgin Media box (both via HDMI) and Freesat which I think connects straight to the TV. I will also connect my iPod so would like the unit to be able to handle music very well. Of course, I would be keen on listening to blu-ray movies at their best quality soun (ie: in hi-def).

Any advice regarding my choices and whether I should be looking at something else or not would be gratefully received.

Thanks

I had to respond as you have a great name!

Back to the thread. I would wait until the Sony STR-DA2400es comes out. On paper it looks to be the best at it's price range and the review of it's little sibling STR-DG820 backs up my theory (if we are to believe that the whole range will be indicative of price).
