What £1000 lcd?

Im looking to upgade my sony 32 lcd to at least a 40". i have a bluray player so would like a 24/fps set. my budget is £1000. i saw a sony 40 w3000u and wondered is it a good lcd to buy and are there better??

I've got the 40W3000 and i must say it's a fantastic set. The X series is slightly better, but i don't like the styling anywhere near as much.

The W4000 will be out soon so I think they've pretty much discontinued the W3000, although you can still probably pick it up at some stores for a good price.

It's a great set, fantastic HD picture via my Sky box and via my PS3. Plus i was very pleased with the standard of the SD picture, after tweaking some of the settings (freely available on some other, more in-depth forums), it really does produce a good pic.

Try and get a newer panel, the only complaints there have been about these LCD's is a greenish problem (something i don't have) with some blacks, and also a purpley tinge issue (something i don't have to any great extent), but these are apparently fixed on newer panels, and if not there is a firmware update and a service-menu tweak to solve them.

All in all a fantastic set 🙂
