I am looking for a present for my dad for his birthday, I think he needs new speakers, have a budget of approximately £100 and was thinking the Wharfedale 9.1 seem to still be the best deal out there, any thoughts? Will be matching with an old NAD receiver for classical and radio listening. Richer seem to have stopped stocking them, only can find at Superfi, any idea what Wharfedales support is like in case of any problems as no Superfi nearby for easy returns?

Thanks

Yes, undoubtedly the best 100 quid you could spend on a speaker right now. Have had a pair plugged in today, coincidentally and they sounded great.

Don't know about support, but IAG are a big operation, wouldn't expect any problems.

I was worried as well, and took the plunge.

Glad I did they sound and look sweet, get the walnut if they still have them,
they look modern and contemporary.

I've got some with a NAD amp - thoroughly enjoy them - very musical and seem to handle a wide variety of music well from classical - jazz to pop/rock/
