My system : Marantz pm-14 mkII-Ki with a preampboard mod. elna capacitors out Blackgate capacitors in.the elna's are direct in the signalpath and sounded a bit dark and mellow , with the blackgate's the sound is faster, fresher, more holografic, very, very nice result.

owwww i love this diskspinner first impressions might be a bit dull but listen longer and you will know )
Kef XQ5 speakers : http://www.kef.com/products/XQ/xq5.asp a pig to run in, at least 1 month intensive use before they begin to shine and sing, picky with speakercables, Qed sa or Chord silver carnival don't do the trick (i really don't get the 3 star rating of the Kefs in the magazine they just need some pampering and love )Kimber 8tc does : http://www.kimber.com/Products/LoudSpeakerCables/8TC/8TC.aspx
Nice sweat top end without losing detail, very natural mids, deep and controlled lows (perhaps a tiny bit fatter and slower than some other "premium" cables ) very holographic with a quiet dark background, just but just on the warm side of neutral but still analytical.
John van Gent interlinks version 3 silver gold (home made small brand in holland) : http://www.johnvangent-audiokabels.nl/nl/ned_interlinks.html
For a fraction of the cost (120,- euro/ aprox.80,- Gbp) they beat siltech sq 88 classic cables and are equal in sound to the siltech sq 110 classic (1700,- euro/aprox.1150,- Gbp) in my set.just a lovley cable for a very lovley price.
Diy braided powercords with ferrite beads : http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/4156/dsc00299ak1.jpg
Kemp sns parallelfilter : http://www.kempelektroniks.nl/SNSPlug.aspx 1 in the house fusebox and 1 near the audioset. won't do without them.
The amp and cd player are bought secondhand and i'm very pleased with them.
