Weird sound problem with Futurama and Simpsons on SkyHD

I record this in HD and I've just started watching it, however for some reason the sound is really low in Stereo and it goes louder if I switch to Pro logic but only comes out of the Centre speaker.

I have a Denon 1910 connected to some QAcoustic speakers, when I'm watching normal content on Sky in Stereo the sound is fine, its just the simpsons and futurama that seem weird.

I have the Denon going to the Sky box via HDMI but I also have a Optical lead that goes from the Sky box to my Denon. In the setup menu I have the sky box set to;

Input mode - Digital

Decode mode - Auto

From what I can see these shows aren't broadcast in 5.1, can't understand why it sounds so weird?

The Sky box is set to Stereo and then Dolby in the sound options

I have looked into this further, anything that is in HD doesn't sound right, when in standard definition it sounds fine in stereo and the sound plays fine. When a channel is in HD without 5.1 it sounds really really low in stereo switch to pro logic II and it only comes out of the centre speaker.

If I switch the amp to pick up the HDMI instead of optical on HD channels without 5.1 the sound it is fine, however switching back to Optical and its not right again.
