Hello all.
Right. I've got an old-ish NAD C370 amp attached to a pair of Mordaunt Short Avant 902i speakers. Decent cable - QED Silver. It's developed a weird problem. When I play a CD, the sound 'pops' - like you'd get on an old, scratched vinyl record. It seems to have something to do with the lower bass frequencies on whatever's playing (it's at it's worst on dance music with a big old kick drum sound) and gets worse the louder you turn it up, and the more you turn the bass up on the amp.
Anyone come across this kind of problem before? Any techie types got any idea what it might be? I suspect it's something to do with the amp, rather than the speakers,, although the mains power supply - a four-socket plug - is pretty close to the interconnects on the back of my separates system and I'm wondering if that might have something to do with it.
I thought I'd ask you lovely people before spending ages dismantling the whole bleedin' thing in search of the problem...
Any thoughts/suggestions gratefully received...
