Hello,

I have and old Luxman LV-90 amp and I was going to buy a couple of speakers Q-Acoustics 1050i.

On rear of amp is written: "Speakers: only A 8-16 ohm, A and B min 16 ohm". I'm not in possession of the manual of the amp, but surfing internet I found that this amp can drive speakers also with 4 ohm impedence. Assuming that the 1050i speakers have an impedence of 6 ohm, do you think that this would be a serious problem with my amp? Maybe someone is in possession of the specs of this amp?

Thank you for the help!

Hello Steffy,

The Q Acoustics 1050i should be an excellent choice for use with an old Luxman amp. I have an even older Luxman R800 receiver in my collection and it has no problem with modern speakers. The 1050i is pretty easy to drive and, if I say so myself, astonishingly good loudspeakers for their price.

Very best regards,

Thank you Steve, very kind from you.

Me too I have to admit I was really impressed auditioning the 1050i. So I think now I'm just going to run to the shop and bring them home!
