Very "volatile" sound quality

Due to medical conditions I am often tired and the sound quality I seem to perceive from an audio device can change on a daily basis, sometimes it can even differ from hour to hour.
Of course it's me and not the device. It's quite annoying.
I wonder if there are others with similar experiences?

Not just you Leon.
Many people on here have said how much their enjoyment is mood related.

Of course health influences mood massively - so I hope your conditions improve, if possible.

I definitely know what you mean. If I don't feel like listening to my music because I'm exhausted then I don't because I know it will put a nasty taste in my mouth that isn't really an accurate perception.

Your mood really does affect your perception of sounds and music. The emotional engagement is not as strong when you feel tired, rattled or generally annoyed. If you're at ease with the world and nothing is bothering you, you are far more likely to take more notice of music and become involved with it, on an emotional and scientific level. I become obsessed with the sound quality and production values of the stuff I listen to and often dissect the music at all levels, before gluing it back together again. Someone here asked if it was HIFI or music that mattered most. It's music for me, but being able to access the music at better quality really does enhance the experience. The effort in production really makes a difference and you appreciate it more, when it sounds better. That's been my experience anyway.

Hi, sorry I am late. I am going to tell you something truly honest. When I am in this state, I watch DVD's of attractive women, like Alice Roberts, or Sarah Crabtree. Not sexually stimilating but easy on the eye. And hey presto two or three hours have past. I also drink a lot. I don't reccomend the alchohol, but it works for me. I am single and live alone. So am totally in command. Have you been diagnosed? You can get some good meds. I wish you well, and all your family.

Are you ok? Getting drunk and objectifying others doesn’t sound like the best route to happiness.

Happiness? You just don't understand it. My happiness lies in deep sleep.
I know the joy of escape in sleep. Sadly it never comes when I really want or need it. For me, just living by myself gives me the space to recharge when my brain is imploding.

Sometimes I can look at my hundreds of records or scroll through Spotify & find nothing I want to listen to. Different from the OP, but it’s frustrating & makes me feel more despondent & lost than I was before.

I’m just a stranger on the internet, but always up for a chat if anyone ever wants a friendly ear for letting off steam ♥️

Nah... a couple of hot hunks would work better for me but I guess I would have to turn to old movies, they don't come with the qualities anymore men had like 20 or 30 years ago.

Well potholes certainly suggest it's not where the money is going.

(All I know is that I pay 20x as much (or more) than those that drive their cars 20x more than I do....I think its based on me polluting more....yet my same car is exempt from the ULEZ charge 🤔).
The last time I looked at my council tax bill a messily 200quid or so a year goes to the roads the rest goes, else where deemed more important.
