Use Denon 110 volt A/V receiver with 220 volt power supply

Has anyone on this forum tried using a Denon(model#4310) 110 volt receiver in a 220 volt power supply country? Does this work ok with a step down(220 volt to 110 volt) voltage converter? I heard that freqnency mis-match 60 Hz vs 50 Hz will deteriotate the picture quality. Does anyone have any inputs on it?

Personally I wouldn't. An amp is a pretty power hungry device and as such would require a hefty step down transformer (expensive, ugly and bulky). The frequencies on the tuner will more than likely not be compatible either.

Hopefully someone with experience of using a step-down transformer will be able to offer some advice on whether they recommend it or not.
