USB Hifi Help

i have a hifi that has a usb input so i have been trying to put my hard drive in there to play music i then found out that it cant search the hard-drive if it has more then 1000 files and i have more song then 1000, is there another way of playing music such as buying a new product etc ?

Forummers may need to know more about your hifi with the usb input....is it an amp? What brand? What is the size of your hard disc?
