Upscaling to 1080p

Hi Everyone,

Despite all the hoo haa about Sony 46W4500, I am going to buy one this week.

I need a suggestion regarding upscaling please.

I have normal SKY+ and I would like to upscale the SD signals to near quality of 1080p - Is this possible ???

I do not want to spend money on SKY-HD at this moment of time - as there aren't enough channels for it - and also the quality is sometimes 720p / 1080i.....

Please help - Can i put some kinda external upscaler for this ?? or will the TV itself will suffice for this job (of upscaling!) from SKY box and my Old Sony DVD player...(it has a progressive scan though)

The tv will upscale to 1080p no problem although you MAY get better results pushing the picture through an onkyo 876 or somthing similar but i truth i wouldnt bother as i doubt there would be much if anything in it! And if your considering spending money on a scaler you might as well spend the extra on a better tv in the first place like a pioneer or panasonic plasma.....
