Upscaling options

Equipment:

• BT Vision Philips box
• Panasonic HD/Freeview DMR EX85
• Onkyo TX SR606
• Optoma HD projector

Hi

What is the best option for upscaling?

My BT box outputs from the HDMI at 576 which is then routed through the amp to the projector at this resolution. Is it better to do this, or output SVideo from the BT box and use the amp to upscale to 720p (or 1080i) ??

Similar option on the Panasonic but I could output component so the 'source' would be better.

I don't understand - why don't you route the BT box and the Panasonic box to the Onkyo and then have a single cable going from the Onkyo to the projector. You can then just try using the Onkyo to upscale and see what it looks like and then just allow it to pass through and see which gives you a better picture.
