Upgrading

Unless you can't afford it! But I suppose that's frustration not upgrading!!!

Maybe when hearing something better "clicks" something about your current system. I did that recently. A visit to the Bristol show and pair of Adam HM2 speakers did it for me. Then found out they were £1.3k a pair. But the bug had hit and I had to get new speakers...so went auditioning for others!

[/quote]Doesn't that mean they they've barely run in? I'm sure i read that Naim takes about 3 weeks or so!

For me it's been when i can afford it... so about 4 years since buying the nad's and 2 for the speakers. i don't plan on changin my new set up for much longer than that.

Whenever I hear something better. Ever since I've heard Dynaudio Focus 110's and KEF XQ10's on the end of both respectively a Marantz PM15S1 and PM17 I knew both speakers would be a great upgrade for me. Right now, I'm saving up some money, so hopefully in a month or two I can afford a pair of either.

When the missus gives in and says yes!

When the lust for new kit overcomes your love of the faithful friends on your rack. I get quite attached to my gear and felt quite guilty when I recently upgrading some old kit which had served me well over several years. The feeling lasted for about half a second after I powered up the new kit and hit play though.
