I have been intending to buy a modestly priced Blu-Ray player but will need to run it via the analogue inputs on my Denon AVR-3802. However the models I've looked at so far all all seem to present potential problems.i.e
From the obvious choices:
Pansonic BD80 - Apparently no facility to build in delay to the analgue audio output (unlike my Sky HD Box) hence lip-sync problems with TV picture.Have e mailed Panasonic to see if this is correct but they havent bothered replying.
Sony BDP 550 - Problem with low bass signal output level, although I have since gathered this may be inherent in all players internally decoding the sound for analogue output. Apparently some AV processors have the facility to boost the sub channel but I dont know if mine will do this, and even if it does, wont it then mess up the sound balance when using the other attached seperates i.e Skybox, and Sony RDR HDX 890.
I have even thought of the more expensive Pioneer players but am unsure whether they would still suffer the same problems and I also need to playback discs recorded in DVD+RW which I believe may be incompatible with some Pioneer models.
Any ideas or would it be best to junk my otherwise very serviceable AV procvessor and buy one with HDMI decoding before I venture into the world of Blu-Ray?
