Does it not have a pair of Audio Out sockets on the rear?
Ignore above, see below.
Connect a cable to the Audio Jack 1 on the rear and connect that to Aux in on your speaker. Then select "Output" in the "Video 1 Input/Output" menu

It's in the manual. If you have not got one you can download a .pdf from Sony website.

no audio out sockets on the rear, only hdmi in

The red and white sockets on the top row of the first photo are your audio out sockets, I believe, if you set them up correctly in the menu (see manual).
You will require a cable that has two jacks to whatever type of connection you have for Aux In on the speaker.

The other end goes into the rear of TV
Have you set it up correctly in the TV Menu set-up. As per the manual?
Are they connected to the TV at Input 1?, (that's the red/white/yellow sockets next to the aerial input socket)
Does the soundbar have some sort of menu system to tell it where the input is coming from?
What I mean is how do you switch the soundbar to its Aux Input?

As an afterthought, looking at that soundbar perhaps you need a different cable with one end terminated with a mini-jack and connect that to the Line In socket on the side of the soundbar.

One of thse:-
Amazon Basics 3.5mm to 2-Male RCA Adapter Cable - 2.4m / 8 Feet : Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Soundbar has a display which reflects the opted connection as-Audio in, line, optical, have already tried the 3.5 to 2 -male cable, didn't work. Perhaps HDMI switcher is required but it is a gamble, will have to risk a purchase and it may or may not work. Thank you so much for your time and effort. Open for any other spark.

Hold back on that.
You've already got everything you need.
As always, it's just a case of taking things step by step.
It doesn't help that Sony are using the same sockets for inputs and outputs, but if you're sure you've done the setup as Al described, then you should have an output there.

Ideally you would be able to confirm that (by connecting to another amp).

But what you can do, is confirm no problem with the soundbar.
With the lead plugged into the soundbar, input selected and volume about half way up, touch your finger on the pins of the (open-ended) plugs at the other end of the lead.
You will hear a buzz if working correctly.
(Try selecting both 'audio in' and 'line').
If you get the buzz, you know that the TV is not giving an output.

...as we would have expected.

So now why is there no output from the TV sockets?
You've selected 'Audio System' in the TV sound menu, so there should be.

You don't need reminding that those sockets should be as shiny as the plugs on your lead.
Looks like they may have been subjected to moisture as there appears to be signs of rust on the outsides. If the inside, centre-pin contacts are anything like as contaminated.....that could well be your problem.
Contact cleaner or alcohol would be a good idea. Otherwise, try inserting and removing the plugs in those sockets (while listening to the soundbar). This might clean the contacts enough.

Otherwise, removing / replacing the contaminated sockets (or soldering wires direct) would (almost certainly) be the answer - but I appreciate you might be unable / unwilling to do that.

One also wonders what condition the PCBs might also be in looking at the state those sockets...

I think he really needs to make sure the sockets are actually set to Output in the menu first.
