Do tube amps add colouration to sound?

A broad non specific question so a broad non specific answer....Yes. All amps (and other components) do, thats why they sound different.

Why do all audio gear manufacturers say that their kit is neutral and balanced... when in fact all gear sound different?

Cannot undestand that.

Well if they didn't sound different then there wouldn't be anything to choose from.

Some tube amps dont add that much to the sound characteristics, but alot add a lovely warmth and fluidity, rather than normal amps, which can sound harsh against them.

A good valve amp is a lovely experience, but the cheaper ones dont have that much grunt behind them.

Hi daspaceman

Tube amps generally tend to work really well with Proac speakers. From what i understand Stuart Tyler (Mr Proac) uses Audio Research amplification.
