I have owned Hi Fi for many years but recently decided to start from scratch after a house move and my old kit going to my son. Now to my point, I have seen some old SD Acoustic SD1 speakers that seem to have the ability to Tri-Amp. I've heard of this several times but never seen a Tri-Amp system. I understand you need 3 stereo amps or 6 monoblocs but how onerth do you get these connected to a Pre Amp which will only usually allow 1 power or 2 at most. Aplogies if this seems obvious but as I've always been taught, if you don't know, ask. I have heard of active cross overs but when I've seen them, none hace the usual RCA connections and still don't see there is enough connections for 1 Pre Amp and 3 stereo power amps. Any advice would be appreciated

You either use splitters such as these

or use power amps with 'daisychain' connections - ie inputs from the preamp and outputs to feed another power amp
