TOSHIBA HD-XE1 UPGRADE

In the October edition of WhatHiFi, the HD Disc Player Group Test rated highly the Toshiba HD-EX1 and I am very keen to get one. The report stated that Toshiba plans a free firmware upgrade in September to add 24fps video and full HD support.

Does anyone know if this upgrade version has arrived yet? If so, which dealers have it and would it still carry the same product code HD-EX1, or to distinguish it as the upgrade would the code change slightly.

Any comments most welcome.

This upgrade can be done over your internet connection and is either already out or is about to be released.

I doubt it will be a few months before current stocks are exhausted in the shops to allow you to guarantee an up to date version

Its not a upgrade version as such simply a FIRMWARE UPDATE which is done automatically by the player but you much have the player pluged into your router to inable it to do so, but unless your tv supports 1080P/24fps this firmware update is not essential to you enjoying HD-DVD.
