Tight fitting vinyl.

I'm noticing more and more of my new vinyl is ver tight fitting on the spindle, it's not so bad getting it on, but getting it off is a nightmare,

I'm bending the vinyl quite a lot, and having to wriggle it off the spindle. It's only a matter of time before I snap something! Plus I'm leaving panicky finger marks all over as well.

has anyone else found this?

Today, I used a drill bit, by hand, spun it in the hole of the record, this seemed to do the trick. Fitted perfectly after that.

I use a special pen for just this job, a quick swizzle and it fits like a glove. I've nearly broken some LPs trying to get them off in the past.

I've used a flat-head screwdriver for this in the past. Push it lightly into the hole, and turn gently to shave a little bit of vinyl away. It's something I've noticed very occasionally with records throughout my buying history - not something I've noticed more of recently. I have however noticed a distinct drop in pressing quality in recent years, but that's another story...
