Dunno....it's all greek to me!

I use a codec instamatic! 😳

Doesn't work in Chrome, Firefox and IE (yuk) on my W7 machine, stock browser or FF Beta on my Nexus 7, Chrome, Opera or Dolphin on my HOX.

Does work in the stock browser on my old Desire.

that's what wikipedia says, realised that if avr set to optical and my pressence speakers are on(dsp),DD EX is the codec, but if i use straight then it's DD.

i'll just set the avr to HDMI....i hate making decisions 😳

It isn't better IMO. Its psuedo 6.1...

Psuedo anything is never better than the real thing

It's not pseudo anything, that implies the information isn't there and is being guessed by the processor, the rear channel information IS there in DD ex, it just isn't in a discrete channel, it's matrixed into the surround channels but that doesn't mean it's being made up.

DD ex IS better than DD, it's nonsense to say otherwise.

The other thread looks perfectly ok to me incidentally.

Yep...

The fact that some can see the thread, while others can't, suggests to me that one of our servers may be out of whack (technical term) with the others.

Have booted the problem up the chain of command (I hesitate to use the term 'escalated the problem') in the hope that someone may be able to make more than an uneducated guess (as I have).

Just had a look at this and I'm afraid I've no idea what's causing it. Very strange. I'll have to talk to our internet tech team on Monday.
