After mulling over an upgrade on my Denon DM-37DAB for a while I instead due to budget constraints followed the advice of this months Big Question section and purchased some Atacama Nexus 6i stands with the floor spike pads and also replaced my speaker cable with Atlas Equator 3.0 cable. To be honest the results have left me gobsmacked. Its like I have a new system, the sound quality has gone up to a level I never thought possible from a budget machine like the Denon. It was always heavy on the bass and you always seemed to get the feeling that it was overpowering the music but the stands and the new cables has calmed it down and has opened up the sound to reveal layers and timing that are a joy to listen to. Playing Ian Dury's My Old Man sounds totaly different, the bass is more controlled and lost its boom making the song come alive. I am now going to go through my Cd collection just to see what I have been missing. Many thanks.
