the trouble with Nait 5i

Nait 5i ( pre and italic ) has no facility for direct headphones input so need Naim headphone amp or something else

Nait 5i ( pre italic ) has back connection input only for mp 3 line

This is not good - how have others dealt with these conundrums ?

You just said it yourself. A headphone amp.

Needn't be Naim (£320 no power supply). There are some very respectable ones around for not a lot of money. If you want a traditional h/phone amp (ie no built in DAC) then I can personally recommend the Rega Ear (£145 current prices) which - unlike the Naim - has it's own power supply.
