THE GADGET SHOW all in one home cinema reviews

Yeh seen it. It was quite good.

They all had the same failings though, the surround sound speakers.

But the sony and panasonic came out tops with pitcure.

but for 400.00 I would buy a cheap amp and some 1010i's

I wouldn't take anything TGS test seriously. Flawed in every conceivable way, although I do like Suzi.

Is it just me or are the Gadget Show presenters some of the most irritating people on TV?

They'd be fine working in a nursery mind you.

I think everyone likes Suzi 🙂

someone should tell tgs that pioneer stopped making tvs last year , as they seem to think they are still making them , and are stopping sometime in 2010 ??

yes they most certainly are!

Strangely I really enjoy the program however despite (or maybe because) finding the presenters laughable.

I know it's a technology show but their frequent use of the word 'tech' is really annoying.

Im probably being pedantic, but it is my right!

Andrew Has WhatHIFI any plans for doing a programme for tv a 30min show would get some viewers

Don't forget "gadge"...

I enjoy the programme and like the banter. I like seeing the latest tech (;-]) and, much like WHFSV, I use the scores as a start point if I'm considering buying.

And lest we forget, many audiophiles (not me then), slate reviews in What HiFi too for being popularist and basic, and lacking real technical depth.

TGS is a mass market show and their spiel and level of reviews reflect that. I for one think they do just about a good a job as they can. Better than Top Gear anyway! (Can of worms - opened(?))

Top Gear? They wish...

Although arguably Ewan and his crew (some of whom have a TG background) do a good job of meeting a perceived demand, given the resources available...

i remember while testing lcds a while back , they set up 3 tvs , side by side , and fed them a live hd feed from a camera set up in a garden behind the tvs , it was snowing at the time , they could look at the tvs and compare the image to the real image behind them , a clever little test i thought ...

My previous defence of the show stands, what with me always being right and all. However, yes, they are all really quite irritating.

And their feature on music servers last week told me as much about them as my Billy Blue Hat collection (dont look at me like that) tells me about...um...well...music servers. Or summat clever and funny instead.

G'night all!

good thing about tgs is that they cover abit more than just hifi, so you cant really compare them to whf..good bit of pass time really, just like any review mag.

I think they do a decent job for the auidence they are trying to attract. It is never going to be an in depth reviewers paradise!

They do seem to copy the Top Gear format a lot, but that has proved popular and I, for one, like it. Think they have a good chemistry.
