Hi Guys,

I am slightly lost as I have recently resurrected my NAD T751 Receiver. I have a new set of B&W M-1 speakers which I have no issues connecting. My HDMI connection goes from the Sony Bravia TV to the PS3 and so will the connection for the Sky HD upon installation.

There is a lead that came with the PS3 which I believe goes from the PS3 to the receiver, however I cannot recall how I make the link from the receiver to the TV and what cable I am supposed to use. (the sooner I get my new modern day Onkyo receiver the better)!!!

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Call me dumb; but I was under the impression that I had to connect the receiver somehow to the TV. Is this not the case?

well not really. only if you want to see the menu.

as you say you have connected the ps3 and sky by HDMI to the TV all you need is sound to the amp.

if you're using the TV's tuner (i.e. using inbuilt freeview tuner, freesat, analogue etc), you'll want to by-pass the TV's speakers.

If this is the case, you'll either have an optical out (aka toslink or S/PDIF) which you'll need to hook-up to the amp, or use analogue outputs (Red/White RCA Phono).

Aura true but i would call that connecting the TV to the AMP rather than connecting the AMP to the TV

absolutely agree - but ya never know!

Smashing! problem solved. Thanks ever so much and now I can recall that I had a connection to the TV for amplifying the analogue tv sound and using the menu.

I wouldn't bother with it now.

Cheers guys!

Worth adding - just in case - that you'll need an optical digital cable for your Sky+HD box if you want to get surround audio from it into your NAD receiver. Even if you do change your NAD for an HDMI-enabled Onkyo in the months to come, that'll still apply, because the Sky box only sends stereo audio via its HDMI output.

Good Man! Thanks ever so much for mentioning that. Would the optical digital cable be the same as the optical out (aka toslink or S/PDIF) that was mentioned in the posting by Big Aura
