hi, i bought a Tannoy Mercury V1i and a Technics SU-Z11.
they work nicely together but i always thought the technics wasnt really a powerfull amp. the volume scale goes from 1 to 10. being at 1.5, the sounds is already super loud. does anyone know why? thanks

Not sure really as the amp is only 25watts and the Tannoys are not overly efficient.

Perhaps you need to invest in a pair of Rothwell Attenuators.

What is your source?

It is quite common for amplifiers to use volume controls that release most of the power in the first 20% or less of their rotation. It makes buyers think they are powerful, when in reality they are difficult to regulate at low volumes.

Quite agree, which is why I suggested the attrnuators.
