Talon Raven 2002 speaker problem

I think that 1.5 ceramic tweeter in one of the speakers has gone. When I turn the volume up to about 25% a popping noise comes from the tweeter. Does anyone know how test the system to confirm if that this the problem or, is it coming from the amp?

My setup is: Thorens TD125 turntable, Musical Fidelity 1008 amp and CD, Raven 2002 speakers

Quite a beast! Them speakers can make some serious bass!

I wouldn't like to say where the problem is though, have you got another amp to try with the Talon?
