Tallk to me about Sennheiser RS180 headphones!

Ok so what I know about digital cordless headphones can be written on a postage stamp, but I've been offered a set of RS180s for a reduced price. They currently belong to an elderly man who uses them on his TV, but he's contracted Parkinson's and now he finds the push-button controls on the headset difficult to use.

My 'auditioning' has been limited to half an hour listening to narration from daytime TV programmes, so as you can imagine, that's not told me a lot.

I realise they were 5* winners in WHF?, but it's difficult to know if that's compared to all headphones at their price point or within the context of cordless sets. They're a few months old and have barely been used, but would the £100 he wants for them buy me a better set of conventional phones, as the cordless feature is of no interest to me?
Surely the SQ is compromised compared to a wired pair of conventional phones?

If £100 will basically buy me a better set of phones I'll decline his kind offer and ebay them for him.

Hi... I have these headphones and have to say that personally I feel that if you aren't too worried about the wireless feature then maybe consider other wired options. They are a cracking piece of kit and to me have a nice "warm" balance but I find they do suffer a little being wireless... maybe it is my current situation/setup but I rarely use them for anything except gaming or very late, loud tv viewing...

Others, may disagree... :shhh:

Thanks for the advice, it's more or less what I expected. I might give these a miss, in as gentle a way as possible.
