I suspect there is split opinion on the benefit or not of using a mains conditioner?

But does the Tacima provide adequate surge protection (probably of more concern to me) considering the cost of equipment hooked upto the mains, or should i be looking at more specialised surge protection?

The reason i ask is that you see 'Gold' and 'Silver' etc protection socket units in shops with varying degress of surge protection, which they seem to measure in levels of connected equipment warranty i.e. £1,000 to £100,000 etc....but the Tacima doesnt really sell itself on this point.

Any opinion, is this a good 2 in 1 device?

Hi tubby,

It's a great question, which I have worried about before.

Don't know the answer, but its a great mains conditioner!!!!

Made a big difference to sound and picture, but if I switch on other equipment I still see the picture on the tv go 'funny' for a second......suggests surges get through, to me? (I'm no expert, though!!)
