I'm thinking of investing in a home cinema system.I have monitor audio br5's on my stereo can i use these as the front and use the bx series as the rest?

Yes - probably.

I've got a mix of MA speakers - Silver 8i fronts, RS-LCR and RXFX rears and it sounds great.

As long as the center speaker match's (same brand) then yes.
