Depends on tastes and structure of the house, in malta we have stone and concrete houses, so it is unlikely to shake a house

A good Subwoofer audio quality are often measured by how clean and accurate the bass is , with a believable amount of spl.

Beware of the power rating as I had a Kenwood sub which was rated at hundred and had to be set full volume and +6db from the amp to be taken seriously, the sub I hace now a wharfedale is rated at 100 and it has to be set at -7db not too bee too loud and is rated at 100W too. So i would rather look at the Sub's SPL @ 1M rating and them demo it, it has nothing to do with vibration, it has to be about clarity and punch IMO.

tuner:is that true that a sub that play loud without shaking the house is better than that shake the house...

A good sub will do exactly what is required of it at the time. If it calls for house shuddering explosions, then that's what you'll get. If it calls for a subtle almost imperceptable performance with music or dialogue, then that's what you'll get.

If you're getting house shaking with dialogue scenes/music (Drum & Bass et al excepted), or not getting house shacking when the action calls for it, you've got problems.

I like your definition big Chris, that is what I would want to say if my english was that good, (being maltese it is not), I would add that it has to act the most seemless possible and the best it intregrates with the sats, the more enyoyment it gives, that is the main prob with sub sat systems, in most cases you can notice the sub, and that is really annoying.
