Streaming to Sony Bravia dongle

Just moved my system into a front room with a new Bravia Television. However, the computer is in another room. Is the Sony dongle option a good way of straming music files and Spotify Premium to my speakers?

Would a DAC be a good idea given this scenario?

I heard some patchy feedback about the Sony Dongle. For the same money, more or less, I got a set of Devolo Homeplugs and use one into the back of my Bravia TV. Works a treat, no messy cabling, they use the wiring around the home via the mains sockets, just plug one into your router, the other into your TV. Job done. Great picture and connectivity, great sound, can't recommend highly enough.
