Streamed Sound Problem

My new Sony BDP370 is now successfully fully connected to everything possibe and picture and sound is just as it should be - fantastic.Except for streamed audio, which comes through in mono! I have checked connections and read the manuals and even written to 'Lovefilm' to see if they actually stream in decent audio, which they do. Everything comes out mono (centre speaker)

So, what is wrong?

Amp - Sony DA1200 ES.

Must be a settings issue, anything I have watched from lovefilm comes through with a 2.0 PCM signal.

Yes, sounds to me something like Pro-Logic or similar processing mishandling the incoming signal from player to amp.

Yes, I agree on every count, but having attempted to fiddle with this part of the process returned no difference.

The display shows Linear PCM (44khz)

......I've just found that pressing '2ch' gives a stereo output which seems accurately stereo, but no other speakers (incl. sub),

The 'Movie - ex B' setting comes out the best (the 'Dolby Pro-Logic' is also showing) Which comes out in stereo, with the centre channel clearly taking the correct 'centre', the surrounds giving a background volume and the sub working properly.

Is this the best it will get? Lovefilm for example, state that I should receive what they broadcast.(!) Therefore it should be 5.1.(?)

What is your opinion?
