I have a Spotify premium account that I currently connect to my NAD C315BEE Amp via the headphone jack on my laptop/iPad mini. The amp is connected to B&W 365s.

I am considering changing things around and have seen that DACs have come a long way since I built this sytem in 2009. Given that, I was wondering how I can improve my system?

Should I be connecting the laptop/ipad mini from the headphone jack or using something else?

Is it worth getting a DAC to sit between my source and NAD amp? Or shall I just replace my amp with the new NAD D3020 (I understand it is especially suited to digital music)?

Thanks in advance and apologies if I have misunderstood anything

I would recommend getting an Airport Express and connect that to your amp. It's very handy because you can connect wirelessly to the amp. I suppose the DAC in the Airport Express is slightly better than the one in an iPad or laptop.

If you don't like it, you can always get a separate DAC with optical connections and connect the Airport Express to that.

We have a similar setup and it works very well.

An alternative is to get an amp that supports Airplay.
