There is a good review in Issue 86 of Hi-Fi Plus of the Spendor A3. They are highly rated in the review but I was surprised to read that the speaker has been modified. The port length has apparently been changed and the foam damping eliminated. The change has resulted in more bass output and they are now described as 'more fun'.
Does anyone know whether the recent price reduction for these speakers in some outlets is to do with this change? Also, they are high on my short list to buy, but how do you tell if you getting old or newly modified speakers? Perhaps Spendor should make this change known?
Best wishes
Paul
