specifications quoted for audio outputs

The rated output for my pioneer bd51 is 200mVolts rms and my marantz cd63 is 2Volts rms does this explain why dvds and blu-ray discs sound quiet compared to cds.

In answer to my own question both the Oppo 83 and the Cambridge Audio 650 blu-ray players have an analogue output above 2V rms.
