What would produce better sound for Film and Music from the 2 packages

Q Acoustics 1010i £439, or Tannoy Mercury F1 Custom 5.1 £544-£644

Would they be a big improvement over my Kefs 2005.2?

The two packages you mention will be better for music as they're based around hi-fi speakers, but which one is better is swings and roundabouts - they'll each have their good points and will be on a par with each other. Personally I'd go for the Tannoys, as they also look better, if that is an issue for some.
