speakers around £100

Hi All,

I currently have wharfedale 9.0's in my bedroom, but was wondering if I changed them for others if I would get a better sound. I am using cambridge 340A and 540C and an old denon TU260L version 2 tuner. I have attacama stands. I am using qed siilver xt and chord chrimson interconnect.

I would prefer front ported speakers, as they will be about 8-10 cm from the rear wall.

Any comments would be appreciated,

Hm. They're all much of a muchness round that price - you might prefer the presentation of the Tannoy Mercury F1 (also front ported) - I personally do - but then the Diamond 9.1 is only another 50 quid and is much better than both. I would save for a bigger upgrade (£200 minimum), where there are some excellent speakers to be had.

For that budget, or if you can stretch it a bit more, you could get a good paid of B&W 601 S3's on Ebay.

Very good speakers and have a better soundstage over the Wharfdales.
