Speakers-Any harm in laying them on their sides?

Hi, my first post here. I recently found a pair of Mordaunt Short Pageant Series 2 speakers being sold with an old Aiwa Hi Fi for £20. Love the speakers but wondered if it would cause any damage to them if I laid them on their sides. I realise it's not the best way to appreciate the sound from them but I have a space issue and am willing to forgo a little in sound as long as I don't do them any harm.

Any thoughts?

In fact the Pageants and Festivals were often used on their sides, due to their unusual tall, shallow dimensions, which made them ideal for using in 'landscape format' on bookshelves.
