Hi everyone,

Bought my first system this weekend, Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 speakers and an Onkyo cr525 with an ipod dock and I'm currently loving the sound.

However, as I stretched myself finanicially I couldn't afford any stands straight away, I'd like some advice on which budget speaker stands would compliment my system to purchase with my next pay packet

Thanks, James

I'd go to a well-known auction site and buy something by Target or Apollo - something like this, for example - 60cm high I'd say, check the dimensions of the top plate of any you see against the Diamonds - draw out on a piece of paper if needs be to see if they fit.

I have Apollo AZ6s (that I got for minus £10, long story) but the top plate is quite wee and the Diamonds are not - though I did have them on there two speakers ago.

I'll look into that, was reluctant to use the internet initially due to the dimensions of the speaker but the paper idea will be enough to give me an approximate size

Time for me to start trawling through the inevitable hundreds of results now. Thanks for the advice

Ok, found a few possibles but another (possibly stupid question)...

Does the top of the speaker stand need to be the same size as the speaker or is it ok to have a smaller platform as long as the speaker will be stable. The reason I ask is I've found some close by for £30 but the top is 6.5" square while my speakers are approx 8" by 11"

Hi I have same speakers wonderfull little beasts! try Soundstyle z2 best 60 quid i spent use Blutack to hold them on stands ust about 25 cm from wall.

Yeah I love them too, for a budget system its such an incredible step up from what I thought were decent sounding pc speakers

Found a set of Atacama SE6 for what seems a reasonable price, are these recommended for use with my speakers?
