Speaker choice

Hi everyone.

I need help choosing a set of speakers for my Cambridge audio 740a amp. At the moment i'm running some ca s30's from my previous set up, and I've narrowed it down to two choices, the aviano 2's or some kef iq5se's. i haven't decided whether to go with floor-standers or large book shelves yet, and some guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend the Mezzo 2s to get a bit more out of your 740a. If you like an analytical and detailed sound, this combination works superbly well (I used to have it myself but just found it a little TOO analytical in the end).

The other speakers you should try to hear are the KEF Q300s which will still give you loads of detail but, IMO, are more musical and accomplished than either the Mezzos, Avianos or iQ5SEs. The latest Qs are phenomenal.
