I've just got myself a set of Tannoy Arena 5.1 speakers (£400, thanks Richer Sounds

), along with an Onkyo 607 receiver, and am trying to decide on a cable to connect them. Price-wise, the maximum I am looking at would be something like the QED XT Evolution at £6 per metre. Other options include the QED Silver Anniversary XT and Chord Carnival Silverscreen. Does anyone have any thoughts, good or bad, about any of these?

A secondary question is: should I consider using a cheaper cable, with similar sonic characteristics, for the rear speakers? I'm slightly put off by the prospect of 2x13 metres of the pricier stuff...

Cheers,

Andrew

I use the Silver Anniversary XT personally, but have not heard the others for a comparison. Given the recent review, I think the XT Evolution is the new WHF fave though.

For the rears, I use QED Silver Micro cable and believe it's a fine cable for less money.
