Speaker cable length?

Is there a maximum length of speaker cable beyond which sound quality degrades?

I'm looking at rearranging my living room and investing in New hifi. The best layout would involve a run of 6m or so between the amplifier and speakers

Any thoughts appreciated

2.5mm sq OFC cable will be fine for that length.

Not really a problem as long as cable is thick enough.
