Hi Guys (any Gals out there?) Just taken delievery of a TV: Panasonic TH-50PZ70B (Letsgodigital @ £1365), AV Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR605B (AV-Sales @ £350) and ordered KEF KHT2005.1 speakers (Play.Com @ 399.99). I currently have a basic Sky box + a SD DVD (no HDMI). I will get a Blu-Ray+HD-DVD combo and Sky HD in the not so distant future. I'm totally confused over what speaker cable to get. Some say only the front & centre speakers need good cable - the rear speakers being not so important. My philosophy so far is good equipment at an affordable price and I hope I'm some way towards that with the kit I have chosen. What with following the contours of the room (going over/around doorways, etc) I need about 28m of cable. How much per metre should I spend (accoring to my philiosphoy) and what would people recommend. Cheers.

I use the 'QED silver anniversary XT' which you can get for around £4.70 a metre and i would use it on all of the speakers, why use lesser cable on the rears they still need to perform to complete your movie experience also you'd be left thinking....would they sound better if i'd bought that other cable? I upgraded to the QED cable from a cheaper profigold bass flex cable and there was a definate improvment in sound, mainly bass reproduction, but over all it was worth it for me.

I'd use the same cable all round - Chord Company Carnival at about £3.50-£4.00 a metre will be more than adequate.

Hi Andrew

Did you mean the Classic, Silver , or Silver Plus?

Cheers
