I need some advice on speakers, I have just bought a pioneer sc lx71 amp and now need some decent speakers to go with it. I only need to replace my fronts and center. I am curently using mourdant short ms302 and was looking at b&w and a few others but i am now confused, please help.

B&Ws are great so that's a good place to start. But as 'Big A' said, we need more information. room size would also be handy, and do we have to please an opposing Wife of girl-friend?
buget range is between 500 and 1000, I tried a set of b&w style mt1 but didnt like the sound as i listen to music and movies and tbh my ms 302 sounded better. I dont see the point on spending big money on amp and setteling on cheepo speakers. i am in two minds weather to go for small or large. the mourdants are wall mounted at the mo, but any bigger would have to be floor standers or sit on a stand. the room aint that big - approx 11ft by 20ft. my local store has a set of ex demo b&w xt4 for sale and while they are floor standers they are slim and give a less imposing impression and yes they do have to please her indoors.

How about some Monitor Audio RS6 fronts with the matching centre??

Which B&Ws? The 600 series would probably be a good match. Assuming your looking for a 5.1 system, bi-amped floorstanders (683/684s) at the front and (unless you're really feeling flush) stand-mount rears (685/686s) work well. A mate of mine has a similar setup, but with the last generation. Sounds great.

Are you using existing MS as rear speakers? If so it may be worth looking at their Mezzo range for fronts and centre. Mezzo 6s + 5 as centre. Cost £1000 approx
Oops. Just saw your budget. The 600s are probably a stretch, unless you're willing to consider second hand.

the 685 theatre (with the baby 608 sub) retails at £1206, but can be haggled to sub-£1000. If you're willing to forego a sub or go secondhand you can get it a bit cheaper still. I'm very happy with mine and, although not tiny, the 685s are sufficently "pretty" to pass the wife-test..!
