Hey everyone - I know you probably get allot of these posts but i was hoping you could help,

Have been racking my brains trying to find a decently priced sound system for a few months now --- im not a huge audiophile so i dont need anything amazing but i would like to have something which looks nice and sounds good when watching films and the odd bit of music here and there, i would be using the system to plug into sky hd, my computer, ps3 and tv ideally something which upscales would be good so i can plug everything into the av receiver with just one HDMI to the tv.

I love the look of floorstanders but i think these are out of my league -- i have looked at the q acoustic 1000 range but the looks have really put me off and a bit of style is unfortuently quite important. However the new 2000 gloss black are a little more to my taste!

I have thought about possibly building a system up bit by bit but i dont know what the best route would be for this or if its even worth it with my budget (500-700).

Any help is much appreciated!

Jim.

The Q Acoustics 2000 hc pack should do nicely for you at an RRP of 500 quid. This coupled with either the Sony DH800 or Dg820 at 300 RRp should be perfect. Although the combined RRp is 800 with a bit of searching and haggling you should get it within budget. Remember don't forget nor skimp on interconnects and speaker cable. Get some QED SA XT or Chord Carnival Silverscreen speaker cable or something. Cheers
