Sony W4500 - was it any good?

I personally have a KDL-52W4500 series at home and providing it's calibrated correctly, it have yet to see a better picture, short of a studio broadcast monitor costing many times more.
The network function is also rather neat as well.
Also use the Philips Cinema TV but it's not in the same league as the W4500 series IMHO.

I am still happy with my 40" W4500 - Had it for over a year now and it still continues to impress.

If you can get it cheap its a great TV.. I paid £950 last December from Amazon which was the cheapest at the time (Everywhere else was selling for around £1100).

I agree with the calibrating - Think I have finally got mine set up perfectly now after lots of tinkering with the settings.

Best picture comes from turning all the features off.. suprise suprise!!

the 40w5500 is better , and about £700-£750 , so why get a w4500 ??

I agree, if i were to buy one today I would not buy the Sony W4500 as there are better TVs out now. My point being at the time it was great (WHF Award Winner 2008) which answers the question "was it any good?"

I wont be upgrading mine for a couple of years.
