Interesting how in the overview the Denon gets marked down for being more expensive than it's immediate predecessor, yet it isn't even mentioned that the Sony is twice the price of it's immediate predecessor, and how the Denon is criticised for being all but cosmetically identical to it's predecessor, yet the Sony which is all but identical to its immediate predecessor, well not a peep.

Couldn't agree more, both black boxes that look very similar to their predecessor models, but most people aren't buying this to look at, I'd guess most user would want something that is heard but not seen.

How when you can buy the Denon currently for £699 can What HiFi justify what on the face of it will be a £300 difference, but at the end of the day What HiFi's main aim is to generate revenue though various means, and whilst reviews are always useful you can't beat going to your local dealer and listening for yourself.

The previous posts on this article are spot on. It seems this particular Sony product is a big earner for the website or at least has that potential. This is now the third article written on the site which relates to this Sony unit. This one and:

This furious activity has all taken place in the last 10 days. You must draw your own conclusions from this but for me it brings into question the validity of the reviews on this site.
