Hi
I am thinking of buying the new Sony STR-DG820 AV amplifier but in the What Hi-Fi review it states:
"At this point it's also worth pointing out that the STR-DG820 can't
upscale (Sony's step-up 'ES' range can upscale to 1080p), nor can it
upconvert (again, the 'ES' range can)."
So, if i am using a BDP-SD350 Blu-ray player which will upscale to 1080p and I run it through the Amp via HDMI will I loose that function? Or does it only mean the Amp won't do the upconversion (in case I connected a non-upscaling DVD player - but an Amp that does upscale will do that conversion for me regardless of DVD player connected).
Hope that makes sense!
Any comments on that particular set up?
Thanks
