Hi, first post here so go easy with me!

I've recently bought one of the above and I seem to have an issue with the Video1 input. I have yet to purchase my speakers so I'm passing all the audio through to my tv in the meantime. I have Sky HD, a PS3 and my DVD player/recorder connected in by HDMI and these work fine, however I'm trying to connect my 360 and Wii by component and my problem is that when I put either of them into the Video1 input, the amp doesn't pass the audio through to my tv. If I connect them into any other component/analogue input, they work fine and pass the audio over as expected. I have the amp set to use "Amp & TV" for audio output, and can't for the life of me understand why it isn't working like I would expect. This basically rules out using the Video1 input which I find strange.

Has anyone else come across this problem? I've searched the net for the last week and can't find a definitive answer. I've also spoken to the shop where I bought it and also hung on the phone to Sony Support (and gave up after 10 mins of their premium line).

Do you also have audio cables connected from these components to the receiver? The component video connections only carry video, not audio.

If you have, it sounds like an input assign problem somewhere in the set-up.

Are you already using the Video 1 in HDMI connector for something? If so, this may be the same problem affecting Sky users with early samples of this model, where you can't reassign audio for an input on which an HDMI audio connection is already being used.

This is being cured with an upgrade to the product - I suggest you contact your retailer or Sony direct if yours is one of the original unmodified models.

Thanks for your response.

Yes, I do have audio cables connected. My unit is one of the "fixed" units that come with the A4 sheet detailing how to set up the audio assign. When I connect the component/audio cables into another input (SAT or DVD), everything works fine - this only happens with the Video1 input. My Video1 HDMI socket is not occupied, but I have tried putting a device in there to see if that was part of the issue, which it wasn't. I have tried assigning the "Analogue" input while on the Video1 source but that didn't work either. A strange thing is that if, when I'm on the component input of my tv I change the amp source to Tuner, the Tuner audio is passed through to my tv. The pass through functionalty does seem to be working with all other analogue audio inputs, just not the Video1.

Then I'm stymied - one for Sony's customer support, I guess, though I have no idea whether this problem will disappear when you actually have some speakers.

They started to flow back into the shops over a week ago. As far as I am aware the 820 could not be changed without opening the box, unlike the 2400 which Andrew had fixed in onsite in a few minutes.
