Ive just found one of these from my minidisc days.

Can i use this to connect to my pc, thing is i dont have any equipment to take optical input into my hifi system? ????

sum sort of dac?...long shot anyone

I've got 1 of those with my old sony hifi, use it to plug the PC into the hifi. It's not a DAC though as it has optical out only so the hifi is still doing the converting. Tried using the CAV-U5 to optical in and a mini jack (from pc's line out) to RCA cable into the analog in on my hifi....couldn't hear any difference to be honest
